is a tool used to introduce current art into the classroom. Rather than simply looking to the past, "Something Cool" encourages students to discover current artists, makers, movers, and shakers as inspiration.
WHAT: The internet is full of challenges. The idea is simple: draw the same character multiple times in the styles of as many popular cartoons as possible. Feeling up to the challenge? Get involved! WHO: Artists interested in drawing cartoons, creating animations, illustrating books, or people who just like to draw! WHY: #stylechallenge was started by a 17-year-old Instagrammer called beautifulness87. The London-based artist (real name Autumn Massaquoi) has almost 80,000 followers, and many of them have been sending her their #stylechallenge submissions and she then shows them on her Instagram page. #stylechallenges inspires other artists, creates a sense of community, and helps create more characters. From The Simpsons, Sonic The Hedgehog and Dragon Ball Z to the Powerpuff Girls and Family Guy, almost every popular cartoon and animated series you can think of has been reimagined in the various styles of different artists from around the world. I do not own rights to these images. Credits left in tact where they were found. ![]()
